Why I wrote Roswell's Journal – By Ayesha Sandra Lee
I believe that the teenage years are a fascinating and extremely important part of one's lifetime. The decisions we make during this time will greatly affect the rest of our lives. There is much programming and misinformation coming from the media, which affects teenagers' self images in a negative and destructive way. My desire is to provide stories that are, first entertaining, so teens will want to read them, and are also honest and contemporary, so teens will relate to them. I want my writing to reflect truth and positive values. It is my hope that this book will help young people believe that they are powerful and deserving children of a loving God Who Will honor their talents and provide an opportunity to live their dreams, if they ask for it and believe in His Providence. I want to either introduce or strengthen, depending upon the spiritual level of the reader, the message that Jesus Christ is their personal savior and that the Holy Spirit WILL guide and comfort them through life's challenges. All people, especially teenagers, can benefit by reading this book. It is my hope that after reading "Roswell's Journal," they will be curious and want to read more of my books, including an upcoming sequel about Roswell.
My Work:
I have had a great love of reading and writing since early childhood. My parents, both writers, read to me as a small child and by the time I entered kindergarten, I was a strong reader. I started writing plays, short stories, and poetry at the age of six. Accepted into an advanced creative writing program at the age of twelve, I soon decided I would be a writer and also a performing artist. I love theater and movies and learned scriptwriting at the University of Hawai'i.
